After a not so quick trip to the bank and the travel agent:Categories: Life in progress I heart Tokyo
So now its my turn to get my butt over to Tokyo to visit. Ken and I talked about me visiting in December, but he isnt going to have much free time then, and he suggested that March would be better. Ive just come back from the travel agent and hoowee: it’s expensive to travel out of Oz! And then there is another $200 to get my passport renewed! And the latest I can pay is mid-December, not exactly great timing… Ive just signed up for a credit card, I’ve worked out all my income so that I can do the salary sacrifice thing and pay my bills tax-free (I dont quite get it, dont ask me for details), but the truth is that with (effectively) three jobs, one permanent part time and two casual, I dont really know how much I will be earning each fortnight, or whether I can pay for the ticket by the due date AND christmas as well, or even scrape up the deposit in time… Oh but im excited to think about coming!!! And Im glad we changed it from New Year to March; I very clearly couldnt have afforded a ticket by New Year!
Waaaah, there is nothing I hate more than money stress. This is all compounded by the fact that I am broke at the moment as well. Everything will change soon, but when?
Apart from money hassles, all is going well. Im finally getting everything organised better financially, and really enjoying the job so far. I miss my Faraway Boy, but in many ways thats a good thing. I am having a busy week family-wise, but otherwise life is still pretty quiet and smooth… All is well.
