(Sorry about the quality of the photo!)

In the mood for some new winter pants? How about these ones? They seem to be pretty simple and we will be able to adjust the hips for a good fit. I don’t know about you, im not so crazy about the side split, but anyway thats optional, as are the belt loops. We will be able to make them with a bit more of a boot cut too. There is a flat, fly-less zipper in the centre of the back (I think. That’s actually kinda hard to see. Ill let you know tho).

You will need 3 meters of fabric, I would recommend something with a bit of a stretch to it but thats not necessary (a stretch velveteen or suede-like fabric would be good, or alternatively a wool blend, or even a stretch cotton). You will also need a 18cm zipper (a small, fine one, like a skirt zipper) in a complimentary colour, a small amount of matching thread for top-stitching and a meter of interfacing, medium strong, but make sure its got its own glue on the back.

Send me an email if you would like to join; we have looked around and decided we can fit a max of 6 people sewing in here. Everyone who brings fabric (and zipper) will leave with a pair of pants. Dont worry if you cant sew, part of the idea is to share skills and learn new ones, and everyone will have jobs to do, even if its only cooking lunch and pouring the wine. Oh, drinks are byo. You will need too be here by 11am sharpish and we are aiming to be finished by 8pm.

Hi there! I would love to join! I need to learn sewing skills but I can also pour a mighty good glass of wine!

      I will buy fabric! Yehaaaw!

How about bringing food…pre cooked! I can make a mean spinach ricotta canneloni!

Have now alienated MJ as I purchased 3 metres of furry zebra print that she wanted..  I may get some other quieter fabric too but I really really want furry zebra print!!  (BTW I already have the matching handbag - am such a fashion victim!!!)

Ok, with the help of some girls who can actually read Japanese we have come to the conclusion that the zipper is actually at the front, and you also need a small hook. Thats actually kinda uncool… we might see what adjustments we can make.
