I miss hanami!Categories: I heart Tokyo
I miss having a regular seasonal event that coincides with my birthday. Nothing much is going on here, just the end of the Fringe, the end of Summer, the unpacking of the warmer clothes. No festival of blossoms bursting into bloom, no parties in cemeteries, no perfume in the air and sudden burst of colour. I miss it. Oh well.

It’s been a good season for the trees. The earliest ones were reeeeally early, but the peak was this past week. I’ve been under the trees four or five times now - mainly shooting video for work - but the blossoms take my breathe away every time.

In inverness, Scotland, they have cherry blossoms, there is one or two trees down the street which I thought was quite odd but I miss hanami too! But what I don’t miss is Kafunsho (pollen allergy) that kicks in this time of the year. Yuck. Good luck with your study!

you know what? i seem to have missed the best of the cherry blossoms this year.
the weekend was the peak - and i didn’t make it out to a park…(saturday was work, sunday was cabbage day)
then came the big stormy winds & heavy rain…now the petals are stuck to walls & pavements…
so sad. -

That is sad indeed! I hate it when that happens! It really is so fleeting. But Ken and Kuri, Im glad you guys got to enjoy some blossoms!
