mind the gap Im so tired. All day long; child sexual abuse, domestic violence, statistics and percentages.... One in three women, one in six men, one in ten families, disclosure, mandatory reporting, survivor strategies, suicide rates, risk factors, dealing with perpetrators, contested knowledges, empowerment… It goes on and on. Even the people who usually work 9-5 are worn out by the end of the day. Add to that: a nasty attack of last night’s clearly-too-old pickled octopus; group work with two loonies and one incredibly interesting woman with airplane earrings; a highly emotional, political and sensitive atmosphere in the classroom and too many students (60+) in the intensive (i think we got quite close to violence today); 37C day ... ... and you have the j-ster going to bed at 10pm.
