Sushi TrainCategories: Life in general
Gouger St., Phno: 8231 3733
Wandering around the Markets today at 1:30pm, somehow Sunday seems to be my best food shopping day and i had heard that the Markets were going to start opening on Sundays… not yet ovbiously. And the organic store across the road is shut too. Oh well. I guess its gonna be Coles again.
I havent eaten yet today so maybe i should start with some food. The chinese yum cha place i have been dying to go to ALWAYS has a crowd out the front and today is no different, no point in trying to get in there… How about some sushi here at Sushi Train? How bad can it really be?
The staff call “Irashimase” as i walk in and im already impressed. But is it a front? No, the chefs are also speaking Japanese, as are the waitresses at the end of the seating area. Wow. And the sushi looks great.... I quickly grab some salmon and maguro as they sail past while im getting set up with tea and shoyu, and then a prawn dish goes past and i snag that too. All my old favourites. I start eating while i check out the interesting plates sailing past. Rice wrapped with salmon and filled with ikura? Not quite my taste but it looks great. Or how about the avocado surrounded by rice, topped with salmon and a tiny piece of ebi? That looks fabulous! I think i will have that one next! But for now, wow, the maguro is really good, the ebi tastes just like it should, and the salmon, oh the salmon, its incredible! (I can still taste it now as i write.... wow) Its like butter. It’s like heaven. Im in heaven. Its been so long since i had any sushi and this place is just great!
I wonder how much all of these plates are? I look around for a menu or price list; oh, there it is on the wall behind me. Oh dear, each of these plates is $4. I guess i wont be having that avocado/salmon one after all. Maybe next time. Boy, i really miss that kaiten sushi place on the south-east of Shinjuku station, the one on the street on the right of the Green Peas building, that one was yummy AND cheap. Well, being that we aren’t in Tokyo anymore Dorothy, I’m just gonna have to save up for the Sushi Train!
(A quick google reveals that there is another Sushi Train on King William St. too! Cool!)

Oh! Sushi on king william road is great! small, and less glitzy than the gouger st one, but still nice and tasty sushi.
