Whew!

Well, i survived last week…

I spent the weekend gearing back down from a very philosophical approach to conflict, stacks of research and writing and little sleep, all the way back down to sleeping in, watching telly and no computer. My right hand has developed some rather nasty RSI, but im hoping that even tho im spending the next few weeks working on a couple more assignments, it wont get too much worse.

This week is gonna be great tho, Im going away with my Nana and Grampy to Stansbury for a week!!!!  Imagine that, a single 35yo going away with her grandparents for a holiday. I think im pretty lucky to be honest, not many would have this opportunity, and being around family is a big part of what being home is about. So, we are staying at some distant relative’s beach house, and while Nana and Grampy are out traipsing around like social butterflies I will, for the most part, stay at home and see how much of the next essay I can get done.  I expect it will be very relaxing and productive. I just have to be careful to avoid any kind of political or social-commentary type discussions… And im also not sure whether i will have access to the internet either. See what happens i guess. Im sure that having a view of the beach out the front windows will make up for it!

You are sooooo lucky.  My last Grandma passed away 2 years ago while both me and my brother were living in Japan.  It still breaks my heart now.  I’d love to chat to her and get to know her better.  Have a great time, you are very very lucky!

the trip with the grandparents sounds lovely.  enjoy enjoy after all that hard slog you’ve put in. family - yes, enjoy their presence for the people who can’t, and enjoy the grandparents also, for the people who can’t.
